Biography:
Hi! My name is Ashley and my journey to birth work started when I witnessed my niece's birth over a decade ago. I didn't know it then, but this eventually sent me on a path of providing heart-felt care for new mothers, their babies, and families. I'm inspired by the belief that women have the right to birth on their terms. I use holistic traditions to guide my support and help families feel empowered throughout this transformative season in their lives.
Why did you become a doula?
Often times, we enter our childbearing years without access to proper education and preparation for this season of life. Doulas are part of the solution to fill this gap and prepare families to make informed choices about their care.
What is your personal connection to birth/family/community?
Birth and motherhood was never meant to be a solo journey. It has always been rooted in community and sisterhood. I have seen the positive impact that support can have on a growing family and I enjoy encouraging mothers to strengthen their confidence along the way.
What is your philosophy of doula care?
Although pregnancy and birth is an innate part of life, it is a deeply unique experience. My philosophy is to provide a standard of care that is tailored for each person.
Who is your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone who is open to learning. Not only about pregnancy, birth and postpartum but also about who they are and who they are yet to become.
