Biography:
Hello, my name is Jenny Alvarez. I am a 41-year-old mother of two daughters, ages 14 and 18. I came to the United States when I was 9 years old. I began attending school at South Lawrence East School and later graduated from Greater Lawrence Technical School. My experiences as a mother and member of my community have shaped my passion for supporting and connecting with others.
Why did you become a doula?
I was particularly drawn to the opportunity to support the client and be present during her birthing process.
What is your personal connection to birth/family/community?
I’m a mother and have experience from raising my daughters and working with children, and I’m ready to give my absolute best.
What is your philosophy of doula care?
Providing nonjudgmental emotional, physical, and informational support to empower families throughout birth and postpartum.
