Biography:

I am a compassionate labor and postpartum doula dedicated to supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum stage with evidence-based, calm, and culturally rooted care. I believe birth is such a transformative and personal experience and I am passionate about making sure families feel heard, informed, and empowered in their journey. This is their story to write and it is my job to make that happen as smooth and calm as possible. My approach is a mix of emotional presence, practical guidance and advocacy to help clients feel supported throughout their journey into parenthood. I am passionate in creating a safe space for my families. I provide nurturing and non judgemental support which may look different depending on each family's unique needs. My journey into birth work was awaken by realizing the importance and the power of continuous support and also by recognizing the disparities many families face during this journey.

Why did you become a doula?:

I became a doula because I have a strong belief that no one should go through pregnancy and birth feeling alone, unheard, or unsupported. Even during the postpartum stage which I feel does not get talked about enough, they should feel supported and taken care of. Being a doula allows me to enjoy my passion for labor and delivery in a different way. Birth is transformative and I am honored to walk alongside families during that transition.

What is your personal connection to birth/family/community?:

My connection to birth and family is rooted in my belief that community care is essential. Support is huge for me and being able to offer it to families during this time means a lot. I want to help families build their village and make sure they feel supported. My own birth experiences (3) did make my passion for this field grow. In my own experiences I had both no support and support and all my experiences were different. It grew a fire in me to want to be who I didn't really have throughout my own experiences. I was a young mother and didn't really have a village and I learned how important it is to have one. Therefore, I am excited and honored to fulfill this passion with families.

What is your philosophy of doula care?:

My philosophy of doula care centers on informed choice, autonomy, and compassionate presence. I have strong belief that every birthing person deserves to feel respected, listened to, and empowered in their decisions. I offer evidence-based information without judgement and support clients in what their story looks like for them and what feels right for them. Whether it may be unmedicated vs medicated birth, home births vs hospital births offering reassurance, comfort measures, advocacy, and presence.

Who is your ideal client?:

My ideal client is one who desires supportive and personalized care throughout pregnancy and birth. Whether it may be first time parents looking for guidance or experienced parents wanting a more empowered experience. One who appreciates open communication and are seeking a doula who is calm, compassionate and culturally aware.
