Biography:
My Name is Maryam Khairkhwah I am from Afghanistan, I am a compassionate and dedicated doula who supports families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My goal is to provide emotional reassurance, physical comfort, and evidence-based information so parents feel confident and supported in their choices.
I believe every birth is unique and deserves respect, patience, and care. I work closely with families to honor their values and create a calm, supportive environment. It is an honor to walk alongside parents during such a meaningful time in their lives.
Why did you become a doula?:
I became a doula because I believe every birthing person deserves continuous support, respect, and compassion during pregnancy and birth. I wanted to help families feel informed, confident, and never alone during such an important time.
What is your personal connection to birth/family/community?:
My personal connection to birth, family, and community comes from my belief that birth is not just a medical event, but a deeply human and communal experience. Families thrive when they are supported, listened to, and surrounded by care. I value being part of that support system and helping strengthen families during such a meaningful transition.
What is your philosophy of doula care?:
My philosophy of doula care is rooted in compassion, respect, and continuous support. I believe every birthing person deserves to feel heard, safe, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I provide non-judgmental care that honors each family’s values, choices, and unique journey.
Who is your ideal client?:
My ideal client is a family that values connection, communication, and support. They may be seeking guidance, encouragement, and a trusted presence during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and they are committed to creating a positive and supported experience.
